Perioperative Support Partner-Operating Room
Summary Position Summary Under the direction of the OR clinical supervisor and lead surgical tech, the support partner will support and assist the surgical team in a fast paced, multifaceted role to facilitate the OR schedule in multiple capacities.
This role is typically used as a gateway to the Surgical Technologist track.
Incumbents typically spend up to 12 months in this role before transitioning to a Surgical Technologist Student.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
License/Certifications:
BCLS within 6 months of hire.
Experience:
N/A Patient transport-assist with patient transfer and transport to and from the Operating Room and other hospital departments.
Patient positioning- assist the OR team with patient positioning.
Patient prepping- assist the OR team with patient care by direct involvement in the surgical prepping of the patient.
Equipment- utilizing preference cards gather needed equipment to support the OR schedule.
Clean and return equipment to proper area after use.
Picking Cases utilizing preference cards; gathers needed equipment and supplies for next day and same day add-on cases.
Sterile Processing-work under the guidance of the CSCST assisting with duties as assigned.
Room set up and breakdown- utilizing basic aseptic technique, assist with case set up and break down.
Daily quality checks- maintain temperature, humidity, warming cabinets.
Date all fluids.
Ability to read, write, follow instructions.
