Brown & Brown is seeking a Commercial Insurance Assistant for its Commercial Lines team in Damariscotta, ME.
The primary focus is to partner with the team to provide clients with the highest possible level of service regarding all aspects of their insurance coverages during the renewal process as well as ongoing throughout the year.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Responsible for day-to-day administrative tasks dedicated to a book of business, including but not limited to customer billing, and processing policies/endorsements, invoicing, issuance of certificates of insurance, and auto ID cards.
Build courteous and successful relationships with team, vendors and carriers to improve client retention.
Assist in the renewal process for all assigned clients as directed; including ordering updated loss information, obtaining updated information, and documenting renewal applications.
Prepares renewal materials including Word documents, PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy by reviewing and proofreading all materials.
Record renewal, sales, and insurance operations compliance documents into the agency management database, as directed.
Ensures that all client files are kept current and complete.
Follow agency guidelines, policies and procedures.
Promote teamwork, support, knowledge sharing and a positive attitude in the department and office.
Develops and maintains solid knowledge of insurance coverages and carrier information by proactively attending carrier provided training sessions and reading carrier generated communications as well as attending internal meetings and information sessions.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
High school diploma Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher.
Able to create, edit, and merge letters, spreadsheets, labels, etc.
Proficient knowledge use of office equipment (including but not limited to copy machines, printers, faxes, binding machine, etc.
) Preferred:

years' experience in the insurance industry, or a related field.
College Degree in a business-related field.
Willingness to obtain Insurance Producer license in good standing (authorities in states needed to service the assigned book of business) Working knowledge of insurance coverages, contracts, and state regulations where business is conducted.
