Registered Nurse (RN) - Wound Care

  • Position Summary
    • Responsible for the patient care in the Wound Center. This includes, but is not limited to, utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care through the use of hospital and nursing standards. The Registered Nurse shares accountability for the oversight of the clinical practice, outcomes and success of the Wound Center.

  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S. or BSN) from a 4-year college or university; or 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Nurse with a current license, Wound Care Certification preferred. Medical Surgical, home health, or wound care, also preferred. Maintains and demonstrates competency in BLS (Basic Life Support), infection control, safety and all unit required skill review.
    • Registered Nurse with a current Maine license.
    • WCC (Wound Care Certification) or WOCN (Wound Ostomy Certified Nurse) preferred. Acquires WCC or WOCN certification within 1 year of hire date for all regularly scheduled RNs and maintains credential renewals.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
    • The ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to define and solve problems, collection of data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
