Radiology Technologist I

  • Position Summary
    • Under the direction of the Radiologist, the Radiology Tech I is responsible for producing diagnostic quality radiographs, as per physician's orders and in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. The Radiology Tech I is responsible for care and safety of patients undergoing examinations, and applies principles of radiation protection. The Radiology Tech I evaluates radiographs for technical quality, exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures as well as recognizing patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates appropriate life support measures. CT experience preferred but not required, will cross train. May float occasionally between both Miles and St. Andrews campuses.

  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Certification from two-year college or technical school. Six months to one year related experience preferred. Ongoing continuing education credits must be attained as per guidelines established by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
    • Maine State License.
    • ARRT (R) RegistrationCurrent
    • BCLS certification.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using w hole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
